Tasmania’s Vanishing Towns is not a reprint of, nor is it a revised edition of the best selling Vanishing Towns Tasmania’s Ghost Towns and Settlements.

Tasmania’s Vanishing Towns documents hundreds of towns, villages, ‘places’, communities throughout Tasmania, identified since the release of Vanishing Towns. Some have vanished almost without trace. Others are vanishing albeit slowly. For some the original ‘character’ of the place is vanishing, or has vanished.

Tasmania’s Vanishing Towns follows the same format and easy reading style of Vanishing Towns.

Tasmania’s Vanishing Towns is arranged into eight regions whereas Vanishing Towns is arranged into five regions.

Each book includes hundreds of fascinating old photos and images.
